The state of global health reflects our interconnectedness as a species, where a threat to one’s health is a threat to us all, requiring a concerted effort to ensure health for all. Comparing global health is complex, as different countries have varying healthcare systems, infrastructures, and populations (Peeri et al., 2020). However, some metrics used for comparison include life expectancy, maternal and child mortality rates, infectious disease burden, and access to essential medicines.
